Valentines 2017 | The Stephens Family
Love believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things….
Valentines Day has become a memorable day for our family. Starting five years ago, my husband began a new tradition. Yesterday, the tradition continued. The boys (my hubby, oldest and youngest son) dressed up, pulled out the fancy china, cooked us an amazing dinner and served all the ladies of the house.
“The measure of a man’s greatness is not the number of servants he has, but the number of people he serves.”
Believe me, with four kids, we have our share of “unlovable moments.” Everyone wants what they want, when they want it and things can get pretty crazy when everyone is looking at themselves and not each other. Teaching our kids to fix their eyes on others is something that is a constant reinforcement.
We only know love because God is love. He gave of himself to the point of laying His life down for us. This example of love is the foundation and basis of our love for others.
My husband is such a great example to my boys. He serves with no holding back. He shows my boys that when you love someone, you serve them. For Valentines Day, he and the boys model this type of love through serving all the “ladies” in the family.
